Eurochance - Home Page"The aim of the project is to widen the range of employment opportunities for the blind and visually impaired, improve their qualifications and skills and make the professional community aware of their knowledge and competences. The primary results of the project are English and German language courses with a vocational focus suitable also for self-learning. For each language there are two levels: Intermediate and Advanced." |
Eurochance - Intermediate Contents PageThere are fifteen modules in the intermediate level, with each one based on the training and employment opportunities for a particular sector. In the intermediate level, these included: office administration, banking and finance, agriculture, social services, catering, sports, etc. |
Eurochance - Advanced Contents PageThe ten modules of the advanced level include: language for telecommunications and sound engineers, telemarketing and call centres, physiotherapy and nursing, programming and networks, etc. |
Eurochance - Unit ContentsEach module offers about an hour of material divided into a range of learning activities such as: listening and general comprehension, vocabulary, grammar practice, consolidation. |
Eurochance - Listening comprehension activitySince the course was designed for the blind, the look of the site was far less important than the accessibility of the activities to visually impaired users, and screen readers such as Jaws and Windows Eyes. |
Eurochance - Vocabulary activityEach module has fifty target vocabulary items which are introduced and practiced, and then presented in the context of an authentic text or listening. |
Eurochance - Grammar activitiesThe grammar section of each module focusses on a particular problem area at that level, which is then practiced in a number of transformation and substitution activities. |
